Try this easy pumpkin craft to decorate for Halloween this year!
- Kirarina Cute Puff Paint: Bright Orange, and Pearl White
- Black Spray Paint (optional)
For this project I bought the pumpkin already painted black from the store. You can spray paint one yourself, or decorate it as is!
Step 1: Draw the Word "Boo"
After sketching out the word “boo” with a pencil, I went to work with the puff paint, dotting carefully along the lines. It was difficult to draw straight lines with the curves of the pumpkin. To help guide my outline, I made two lines above each letter to make sure that I stayed within these parameters. I think having lettered stencils would have made creating the design easier and quicker.
Step 2: Follow the Grid to Add Dots
Using the bright orange puff paint follow the "Boo" grid you made adding dots.
Tips: When starting to use a new bottle of puff paint make sure to squeeze out the watery substance before marking on your design. Occasionally shake the paint down to remove air bubbles and keep nib clean to keep the design precise.
Step 3: Let Dry
I let different areas dry completely before moving on so I didn’t smudge the paint. I used a heater fan to speed up the process.
Step 4: Draw Spider Web Design
After researching spider designs on the Internet, I drew the vertical spider web lines between every other pumpkin grid ussing a pencil. After completing this, I followed the horizontal lines towards the vertical grids. When reaching the vertical lines I made a dip to give a more realistic depiction of a web.
Step 5: Trace Over Pencil Lines
Using the pearl white puff paint, trace the pencil lines to finalize the spider web.
Step 6: Let Dry Thoroughly & Erase Pencil Marks
And there you have it, a simple and easy way to make pumpkin decorations!
