Art Education on the Imagination Bus

Creative Team | May 8, 2017

In a time of strained school budgets, we want to ensure that every child has the opportunity to reach their full creative potential. Together with River Road Parks and Recreation, we've brought "Artie the Imagination Bus" to our community.

"The end goal is to bring art to underserved kids who would otherwise not see an art class, or get a chance to get their hands on quality art supplies.” -- Hillary Darland, Imagination International Inc., Director of Philanthropy

The River Road Park Imagination Bus is an art classroom on wheels that tours Lane County and beyond to bring art to underserved kids in our region, both in town and in rural areas.

At Imagination International, Inc. (III), we believe that art education is essential to ensuring the vitality of our community. That is why we created the Imagination Bus with River Road Parks and Rec in the first place.

Where did the bus come from?

The bus was donated by the Lane County Transit District, and our team at Imagination International provided the customization and upgrades. The exterior of the bus was painted by local Muralist, Bayne Gardner (who is on Instagram, @baynegardner) and the inside was modified to include 22 art stations by III Machinist, Matt Kale and local craftsman, Mark McKay. The official dedication took place on October 15th, 2015!
