Step 2: Decide on your design

Decide what size designs you would like to put on the bag. Measure how big the shapes should be, and approximately where they will be placed.

Step 3: Create a guide on paper

Create a guide of your design on paper or in a vector program like Adobe Illustrator. With Hot Ribbon, it’s easy to make geometric shapes. There are plenty of great ideas for geometric art on sites like Pinterest or Instagram. Check out the Hot Ribbon board on the Imagination International Pinterest page to find inspiration for designs to create with Hot Ribbon!

Step 4: Position the designs

Position the designs at the appropriate size on paper, then place the paper under a pane of tempered glass.

Step 5: Cut and place the Hot Ribbon

Start cutting pieces of Hot Ribbon and laying them out on top of the design. Use the mini iron to heat the ribbon and stick it to the glass. Start building shapes, keeping in mind where the edges of the ribbon overlap and making sure the pieces line up neatly together.

Step 6: Let the ribbon cool

After creating each one of the shapes, let the ribbon cool.
